To develop the branding for the Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre in Baulkham Hills, NSW.
The Hills Shire Council built a new fitness and aquatic complex after a knock-down of the Shire’s 54 year old pool, the Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre. The project includes a FINA Standard Olympic sized swimming pool with 10 lanes, a combined indoor 25 metre learn to swim and leisure pool, swimming clubhouse, gym and fitness centre, additional 20 metre warm water pool with spa and sauna, a 25 metre outdoor pool, water play structure, and café.
Leading Hand Design was appointed to develop the branding of the new centre.
Initially we developed several branding concepts, one was inspired by the architecture of the new centre, one was directly inspired by Council’s style guide and one inspired by the local area and what it means to have this world-class facility. In each concept we aimed to depict the elements of water, swimming and fitness.
The branding process was a highly collaborative, smooth and rewarding process for all involved. As the activities and requirements of the centre evolve we will continue to provide innovative solutions that drive performance, are efficient and build the brand.
To support the new identity we developed a comprehensive brand guidelines document to direct the application of the visual identity for centre management.
Here are a few images that reflect how the brand is being applied across the various platforms and mediums.
