CHALLENGE
To create a national online community for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) people bereaved by suicide aged 18+ to access resources and support one another.

SOLUTION
We worked closely with the team at Jesuit Social Services to design and develop a website and forum called SASH – Support After Suicide Hub. We also produced a promotional video.

We understood it was critical to deliver a design that was well branded, was mobile responsive in every aspect, stood out from other websites in the postvention space and was clearly intended for the LGBTQIA+ community bereaved by suicide.

We consulted extensively with the Jesuit Social Services team led by Louise Flynn, and we were able to lead several sessions with their Lived Experience Advisory Group who provided valuable advice and feedback throughout the process.

We strived to create a forum that was distinctive, easy to use and customised for the SASH community. Another key element of the project were the illustrations, all of which were created in-house by the talented Leading Hand Design team.

It was a rewarding process, and we are ultimately very proud to have played a role in bringing this very important hub into service.
