CHALLENGE
To design a beautiful, memorable and enduring book paying tribute to patients and patrons of St Vincent’s Hospital.
SOLUTION
Originally titled “A Portrait of a Grateful Patient”, the book was renamed “Portraits” and we were to create a classic, elegant keepsake in the form of a hard cover book. The book was to tell important stories, carry meaningful messages and hold the reader’s attention for close to 100 pages.
The simple cover design was one of many but the selected option shows the warmth and generosity of the people about whom the book is written.
A simple grid, large images and bold embellishments executed in a relevant style resulted in a genuinely interesting and uplifting piece of design. The text was expertly written by respected journalist, Bernard Zuel. The result is a wonderful asset for St Vincent’s Hospital to express its appreciation for many of the people who have shaped their history and will influence their future.
