The Australian Food & Grocery Council

Leading Hand partnered The Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC) to deliver on a number of reports and publications that transform complex information into engaging, accessible communication.

Summary

Over several years, we partnered with the AFGC to design three consecutive annual reports spanning 2018–2019, 2019–2020 and 2020–2021. We approached each edition as a distinct publication, developing its own cover concept and visual motif that carried throughout the interior pages. While every report maintained a unique identity, the series remained unified through a consistent standard of professionalism, clarity and alignment with the organisation’s broader brand presence.

For the National Plastics Recycling Scheme, we designed a prospectus that communicated a complex, future-focused initiative in a clear and engaging way. The publication centred around a suite of custom illustrations that established a cohesive visual language across the document, helping to explain systems, processes and outcomes with clarity. Combined with a vibrant colour palette and carefully structured infographics, the result was an accessible and contemporary publication that supported both comprehension and stakeholder engagement.

Prior to the National Plastics Recycling Scheme, we also developed a series of Food and Beverage Export Guides focused on key markets in Indonesia and China. Designed as a cohesive set, the guides shared a consistent visual framework while allowing for market-specific nuance. Each publication featured custom illustrations inspired by local grocery environments, grounding the content within its geographic context, alongside considered infographic systems and structured layouts. This ensured complex export information was communicated in a clear, visually engaging and highly accessible way across both markets.
