In August 2024, Leading Hand successfully pitched for Scarlet Alliance’s rebrand project.

A national organisation based in Sydney, Scarlet Alliance represents sex workers and their organisations across Australia, working to advance their rights through community development, peer education, advocacy and representation.
The organisation stands in solidarity with movements and resistance that support traditionally marginalised groups, including women’s, migrant, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, people of colour, disability, LGBTIQA+, people who use drugs, union and worker groups.
It was very important to us that the new Scarlet Alliance brand authentically represented the membership of the organisation and their experiences in the industry. To achieve this, we designed and conducted a survey questionnaire and ensured the contributions informed our design concepts.
The rebranding outputs included a full logo suite, comprehensive brand guidelines (with brand colours and fonts, paragraph styles and styling for longform reports), letterheads, socials carousels and posts, and EDMs.
Capturing the organisation’s commitment and energy, the new visual identity for Scarlet Alliance will underpin its ongoing action to influence policy, challenge criminalisation, address stigma, and promote agency and peer education for sex workers across Australia. We’re proud of the creative result, and we hope to work with Scarlet Alliance again on other projects to support its work.
