Seniors Rights Victoria
CHALLENGE
Seniors Rights Victoria is one of the principal programs of Council on the Ageing (COTA) Victoria. The organisation had content spread across four sites targeting different audiences, with lots of repeated content, broken features and a dated appearance.
They wanted to merge these sites, streamline the content and refresh and modernise the design to help Victorians find the information and support they need easily.
SOLUTION
Our user centred approach to our design process always starts with a discovery phase to understand how people use an organisations website. In this project we started with a series of user focus groups to uncover key insights into the challenges, experiences and preferences of specific customer groups.
Four groups were consulted at each stage of the design process enabling us to test design concepts and to evaluate feedback quickly. This was an invaluable opportunity to improve user outcomes and also to build strong advocates for the new online presence.
The new website is highly visual, mobile responsive, provides clear and rewarding user pathways, has an enhanced search functionality and has significantly more editorial flexibility.
We look forward to working with the team at Seniors Rights Service to build on this strong foundation to provide an ongoing quality resource to combat elder abuse.
