CHALLENGE
To design and build a new website for the ARA Darling Quarter Theatre, Managed by Monkey Baa Theatre Company.

SOLUTION
The Monkey Baa Theatre company is committed to supporting bold, playful and diverse productions throughout the year and, as such, their home at the ARA Darling Quarter Theatre in Sydney required a website that reflected those sensibilities.

Our approach was to build the website around a loud, impactful landing image that occupies the entire width of the screen, accompanied by an angular, pop-out, navigation that gives clarity and prominence to slightly the various callouts, content blocks and footers.

The user journey across the site is simple and easy to use. Due to the broad range of performances that ARA and Monkey Baa have in their program, we wanted to make sure that each show was given the same amount of real estate and could easily take top billing on the homepage.

The use of red on the website is both bold and engaging and stems from the newly branded Monkey Baa Theatre Company. Limiting the design to this red palette helps each page feel uniform and supportive so as not to distract the audience from the various upcoming performances.

The website delivers an intuitive user experience, is mobile responsive and WCAG 2.1 AA compliant.
