Sydney Symphony Orchestra

Leading Hand’s relationship with the flagship Sydney Symphony Orchestra goes back a long way – it was creative director Jamie Carroll’s very first freelance client back in 2000!

Summary

When the orchestra rebranded in 2019, the team engaged us to develop their 2021 season programs and roll out the new look across multiple media. We’ve been delivering designs and concepts – large or small – for the orchestra almost every week since.

This continuous partnership has cemented Leading Hand as the reliable brand custodian and go-to studio for the SSO’s programs and other overflow work. We interact so closely now with SSO’s marketing department that we feel like an extension of their team.

Performing up to 150 concerts a year means designing a lot of programs. And in between, we deliver monthly animated digital posters, staff diaries for each new year, educational and seasonal brochures, magazine advertisements, static and animated web tiles, and even signage for more high-profile performances.

We ensure that each project – no matter its size – is completed to a high standard every time, reflecting the level of quality that people expect from Australia’s leading orchestra.

The SSO is dedicated to bringing the best music to the largest possible number of people – not only through performances but also through training opportunities, education, special events, and community access and engagement.

Leading Hand’s design concepts and deliverables support the orchestra’s continued outreach to an ever-broadening audience base, putting new arts experiences within everyone’s reach.
