We created a distinctive identity for Riverside Live at PHIVE, Parramatta’s new flexible performance venue connecting audiences through theatre, music, dance, comedy and community events.
Since mid-2025, Leading Hand has been collaborating with Riverside Theatres and the City of Parramatta to create an identity for Riverside Live at PHIVE – a new performance venue within the award-winning PHIVE building at 5 Parramatta Square.
The flexible black-box theatre provides an intimate setting for audiences of up to 180 people, with a diverse program spanning theatre, music, dance, comedy, film, talks and community events. Located within PHIVE’s Discovery Space, the venue creates new opportunities for performance, presentation and connection in the heart of Parramatta.
Our brief was to give Live at PHIVE a distinctive presence while maintaining its connection to both Riverside Theatres and its home within PHIVE. Leading Hand developed a range of branding options, with the selected identity subsequently applied across digital communications, print, venue signage and environmental graphics.
We have worked with Riverside Theatres since 2012, growing from a single project to an ongoing creative partnership across almost every part of its communications. During that time, we have watched Riverside continue to expand its contribution to the cultural life of Western Sydney by supporting artists, attracting new audiences and presenting an increasingly diverse program of live performance.
As plans for the future of Riverside Theatres continue to take shape, Live at PHIVE represents another important addition to Parramatta’s growing arts and cultural precinct. It is an exciting time for the city and a privilege for us to continue playing a part in its evolution.
