Legal Aid NSW is one of our longest-running clients, trusting us with its large- and small-scale design needs since 2008.
This independent government agency – the largest legal aid commission in Australia – offers legal services in criminal law, family law and civil law to disadvantaged clients across New South Wales.
Leading Hand has designed and delivered for Legal Aid NSW an extensive range of promotional and educational outputs of all sizes and formats. A perennial project since 2013 is the agency’s 150-page annual Legal Topics for Seniors diary – an innovative strategy for connecting older people to information about their rights.
Some of our creative work for Legal Aid NSW has surprisingly long-term relevance. We originally developed the very first Legal Issues for Older People series of brochures back in 2008 and redesigned them in 2017. They continue to be refreshed regularly and distributed right across New South Wales.
For something different, in 2023 we developed a set of illustrations for a 60-page handbook for young people on their legal rights. The illustrations successfully enhanced the publication and made it clearly relevant to the target audience.
Legal Aid NSW has a pivotal role in ensuring access to justice for socially and economically disadvantaged people across New South Wales. With a network of offices and a comprehensive range of services, the agency has a lot to communicate, and engagement with its wide client base is vital. The diversity of outputs we create support Legal Aid NSW in changing people’s lives.
